About me
I'm an Amazon best-selling author living in earthquake-hit Christchurch, New Zealand, where my contemporary novels are set. I'm a night owl and prefer writing late into the night whenever possible.
My books span a variety of genres. I've written contemporary crime noir fiction, contemporary YA (social issues), science fiction, middle grade interactive fiction, and co-written fantasy (now out of print).
My work has so far produced a Sir Julius Vogel Award (shared), the elusive Awesome Indies Seal of Approval (twice), Amazon (US) #1 Bestseller ranking in Australian & Oceanian Literature, and Amazon (CA) #1 Bestseller rankings in Noir mysteries and thrillers, and Hard-boiled mysteries.

Where I live
Christchurch, New Zealand.
Christchurch is a city of approx 400,000 people on the east coast of New Zealand, which is about as far away from anywhere else as it is possible to be.
In Sept 2010 and Feb 2011, Christchurch was ravaged by major earthquakes that left much of the central business district in ruins, thousands of people homeless and some parts of the city uninhabitable. But some of us are still here, writing. |
InterviewsI was interviewed by The National Center for Disability, Equity, and Intersectionality (USA) about writing and neurodiversity recently. The interview is on YouTube if anyone is interested. See the YouTube frame to the right.
The post on their website is here. I've also been interviewed by Reader's House in London. They wrote a long introduction, and my interview follows. You can find it on their website here.
